Aerende’s gently fragranced candles are made with natural rapeseed wax, a sustainable and non-toxic alternative to standard paraffin or soya wax candles, and scented with essential oils. In our attempts to minimise the environmental impact of our candles, we have switched from standard wicks to non-toxic cotton and linen ones. Aerende Candles are available in three scents, Braeden, Denu and Maed. Braeden, an Olde English word meaning forest, which references the warming, cosy scent of pine, cedar and bergamot. Denu, is an Olde English word meaning valley, which references the earthy but fresh essential oil fragrance of lemon, geranium and patchouli. Maed, is an Olde English word meaning meadow, which references the uplifting essential oil fragrances of grapefruit, lavender and geranium. Designed for unisex appeal, the simple, utilitarian style makes them suitable for indoor or outdoor use and when you’re finished with the candle, the glass makes a handy container (or can be easily recycled). Each candle is hand-poured in Wales by people with learning disabilities at Beacons Creative (see our Makers page for more details). All purchases help support this social impact company.

Our raw smoked steel containers are available in four sizes. The pots are hand made locally to our studio by a family company dating back to the late 1800s. They are then smoked by hand and sealed with linseed wax. All our containers come with lids and due to their handmade nature are all individual. Each pot shows the marks of being hand made and celebrate the raw state of making. True wabi-sabi style pots.

Grey Baobab seed pods from Africa. These sculptural seed pods are perfect displayed in any setting. The Baobab is a tree native to Africa, Australia and the Middle East that produces these amazing seed pods. We also stock the larger Australian Baobabs that have a mossy green velvety texture. It is now classified as a super food but these are purely decorative seed pods.

We love how twisted and sculptural they are! They look stunning next to a dark background such as our handmade black pots, as you can see in the images above. Sizes range from 6cm – 20cm; all sizes approximate as the pieces are truly unique and individual. Pieces will be selected at random.
