Harp Studio
Founded by artist Justine Cook, Harp Studio emerged from sharing her home with the world. Harp Cottage on the Welsh Borders was a stone cottage nestled into a hillside where Justine and her family worked and made their home. When they started to rent it out as a holiday let in 2014, it was known for it’s simple pared back interiors that exuded warmth and calm; it quickly became a go to destination.
Harp Studio grew from there and after designing and creating homes for many others, Justine then sought to simplify the studios offerings and launched the Campaign Sofa in 2019, which was created for a French townhouse a couple of years earlier.

THE CAMPAIGN JOURNEY BEGINS
Realising the potential of this elegant design, Harp Studio now concentrates on offering this stunning sofa to others who want simplicity and quality in their home. Justine believes that we should tread lightly in this world and so all of our sofas are made as thoughtfully as possible with natural products.
THE CAMPAIGN STORY
The original sofa was designed to solve the issue of accessing a large room through a narrow staircase and doorway. Whilst also maintaining comfort, simplicity and longevity. Our furniture can be taken apart and reassembled time and time again and it’s underlying craftsmanship means that it will serve you needs for hopefully generations to come.
This travelling sofa is a quality designed piece of furniture robust enough excel in a rough and tumble home but also to move with you and be reassembled in it’s new home.
THE ORIGINAL
The sofa above is the original that we designed for the new owners of an old French townhouse which had been in the same family since it had been built, and the new owners wanted to be mindful of this history. All of the furniture discovered in the house could be taken apart and moved, and often had special nuts and bolts to clasp each piece together. The age of the house called for a classic sofa design. So we looked to age appropriate designs and based it on original Georgian sofa proportions.
These traditional design elements were perfect solutions for an old house with a very steep narrow staircase and a large sitting room. So the Campaign Sofa was born.
The original sofa is upholstered in, vintage linen sheets that were found in the house, a further quiet connection of past and present.
2.2m wide and 76cm deep.
THE INSPIRATION
The sofa journey began many years before, whilst we were living in Harp Cottage. My friend Marina has the most wonderful house and it was there that I met her original Georgian sofa that was my perfect sofa. She told me to just get a copy made. A world opened up and when the time came to design the perfect sofa, I came back to her sofa. I tweaked it a little here and there and the Campaign Sofa was born.
